How It Works

The average stay in residential treatment at Serenity Park is 30 days. We are a 20-bed facility with 2 clients in each room.

  • Each client will see a psychiatrist the day they are admitted and will be assigned a counselor for individual sessions each week.
  • Each will attend 5-6 hours of group therapy/therapeutic activities each day with our licensed drug and alcohol counselors.
  • Each will attend local AA/NA meetings and have meetings brought to them.
  • Each will create a treatment plan with their counselor upon arrival and our discharge planner will start working on a tailored aftercare plan for when they discharge.

Our Method

We are a dual diagnosis treatment center. We understand that many of our clients struggle with mental health problems and that those don’t go away when you take away the substances. We use therapy and sometimes medication to treat these underlying issues.

  • We use holistic evidence-based treatments to treat the mind, body, and spirit.
  • We use a curriculum called living in balance, seeking safety and we teach out of Joe McQuany’s, The Steps We Took.
  • We have a chef who prepares delicious healthy meals. We always have fresh fruit available to our clients.
  • We ensure clients do a lot of mindfulness activities, meditation, and yoga.
  • We do a lot of outings and try to show them that life in recovery is fun.
  • We use a levels system where clients can earn more privileges and outings each week.
  • We take them to the Jim Daly Fitness center, encourage Equine therapy at the Pine Hill ranch, and rock climbing at the Little Rock-Climbing center.

Discharge Planner

We understand that their 30 days stay with us is just the beginning and work very hard to set them up for success. Continuing care is a big part of our program. Our discharge planner will work with clients on a tailored aftercare plan to fit their needs. We have a continuing care group each week, where providers from different IOPS, sober living homes, employers, trade schools, and even colleges come connect with our clients about services that are available to them after they leave.
